"Wanna make some beer, dad?" my son Dominic asked one day.

I had tried in college, but it was awful. I knew I could do better!

For Father's Day, he gifted me a beer kit and brewing classes. We made a beer and bottled it. While it rested, we said:

"We should call it Cold MathaPhukin Beer!"

It was a joke… until it wasn't. The more we thought about it, the more we wanted to just order a cold, no-name beer at a bar instead of staring at an encyclopedia-length menu.

Visiting him at college in Oregon, we'd see small dogs running around without a leash in front of cars. But it wasn't a dog—it was a monster squirrel*!

The giant, a**hole squirrel-dog from the PNW is the inspiration for the logo and our parent media company name: Squirrel Dog Media.

*ground squirrels like marmots can weigh up to 15 lbs.!
